Islamabad: The government has once again increased the prices of petroleum products, after which petrol and diesel have become more expensive across the country.

Oil Prices Rise as Gold Holds Above $4,400

The price of high-speed diesel has increased more than that of petrol. After diesel became expensive by Rs 6.72 per litre, it will now be available at Rs 392.67 per litre.

The fresh increase in the prices of petroleum products is likely to put further pressure on the daily expenses of citizens. In particular, the increase in the price of diesel may affect the expenses of freight transport and other sectors, which may also have an impact on the transportation of goods and prices.

The increase in the price of petrol will have a direct impact on the monthly budget of people using motorcycles and cars. On the other hand, the increase in diesel prices is expected to increase fuel costs for public transport, agricultural activities and the commercial sector.

After the recent decision, consumers will have to spend more money on fuel than before. The new prices will be applicable for a fixed period after the notification is issued.

Changes in the prices of petroleum products are usually made keeping in mind the prices of crude oil in the global market, the domestic foreign exchange situation and other relevant factors. After the latest increase, the public’s attention is now focused on whether there will be further changes in the prices in the next review or not.
