Rawalpindi: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gauhar has said that due to not meeting the founder PTI for a long time, an uncertain situation is arising in the political environment, while he wants all important decisions related to the party to be taken in consultation with the founder PTI.

Talking to the media on Adiala Road, Barrister Gauhar said that despite the passage of several months, it was not possible to meet the founder of PTI. According to him, the continuous obstacles in the meetings create a risk of increasing political tension instead of reducing it.

He said that the relevant government representatives were contacted regarding the meeting of the founder of PTI’s family. According to him, he was advised to submit a written application and avoid political discussions on the media after the meeting; however, the family wanted all the concerned persons to be allowed to meet, which could not be agreed upon.

The PTI Chairman said that the party’s policy is to give primary importance to the opinion of the PTI founder in important political decisions. He also claimed that the PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have been shifted to the hospital for medical examination and treatment on various occasions.

On a question regarding the Azad Jammu and Kashmir elections, Barrister Gohar said that the decision not to participate in the election process was taken by the party’s political committee after reviewing the local political situation. He said that this decision was taken keeping in mind the ground situation.

He further said that no complaint was made by the PTI founder or Bushra Bibi in the messages he received. According to him, a proposal regarding a meeting with the PTI founder was under consideration, which was also mentioned by Aleema Khan.

In response to a question about differences within the party, Barrister Gauhar clarified that there is no forward bloc or rebellion in PTI. According to him, the party leadership and workers are united under the leadership of the founder of PTI, and there is no truth in the reports of internal differences.

He said that in the past too, this position was taken: if tensions increase due to the decisions of political cases, then their effects can be felt on the political environment of the country. According to him, political issues should be resolved within the constitutional and legal framework.

Expressing his views on the current situation in Azad Kashmir, Barrister Gauhar said that PTI does not support any such narrative or activity that is against the interests of the state. He said that the party supports the public demands; however, it does not want any action that may harm the Kashmir issue.

He further said that if the leadership of various political parties goes to Azad Kashmir, its purpose should not be to spread chaos, but rather all political forces should adopt a responsible attitude and prioritise the national interest and the Kashmir cause.
