Geneva: Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said regarding the ongoing diplomatic talks that the success of any negotiation process is possible only when all parties ensure full implementation of the agreements and obligations agreed upon. He stressed that the outcome of the negotiations depends not on mere statements but on practical steps.
In his statement released on the social media platform X, the Iranian president said that the effectiveness and success of the ongoing negotiations are linked to the fact that the relevant parties fully abide by the agreed obligations and implement them correctly. He said that building trust at the international level is possible only when promises and agreements are put into practice.
Masoud Pezeshkian said that the measure of progress in the negotiation process should be only practical steps. He clarified that any deviation from its obligations or delay in implementing agreements by any party can affect the negotiation environment and damage the atmosphere of trust.
The Iranian president’s statement comes at a time when various diplomatic contacts and talks are ongoing in Switzerland. According to observers, these talks are considered important for reducing tensions in the region and resolving controversial issues. Iran has consistently expressed the position that diplomacy and negotiations are effective means of resolving problems, but this requires seriousness and practical commitment from all parties.
President Pezzekian also emphasized in his statement that statements made outside the text of the negotiations do not help progress. According to him, such comments or announcements that are not consistent with the agreed points can complicate the negotiation process and give rise to misunderstandings.
Analysts say that the Iranian president’s recent remarks actually highlight the importance of transparency, responsibility and seriousness in the diplomatic process. According to them, political will alone is not enough for success in international negotiations, but full and verifiable implementation of agreements is also indispensable.
Experts say Iran’s repeated emphasis on practical steps is intended to send a message that the success of any future agreement will depend on its effective implementation. They say that if all parties fulfill their responsibilities, the talks could open new avenues for stability, trust, and cooperation in the region.
The Iranian president’s latest statement is being seen as an important message in diplomatic circles, calling keeping promises and fulfilling obligations a fundamental condition for the negotiation process to be fruitful.
