Islamabad: On the completion of one year of the historic victory in the Battle of Haq, a special ceremony was held at GHQ Rawalpindi, where the top leadership of the armed forces participated. The special guest of the ceremony was Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, while Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Babar Sidhu and Naval Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf also attended.

The ceremony began with laying wreaths at the Martyrs’ Memorial and reciting Fateha. Speaking on the occasion, Field Marshal Asim Munir said that the Battle of Haq is an important chapter in Pakistan’s military history that highlighted national defence and public unity before the world.

He said that in May 2025, the enemy tried to challenge Pakistan’s national dignity, but the Pakistani armed forces gave a timely and effective response and thwarted the enemy’s intentions. He said that this was not just a war between two countries but a decisive battle between two ideologies in which truth prevailed.

The Field Marshal clarified that Pakistan’s defence is now stronger and more impregnable than ever. He warned that in case of any aggression in the future, the enemy will have to face serious consequences.

He said that according to the modern war requirements, work is underway on new defence strategies, including cyber, drones and artificial intelligence, while the establishment of Defence Forces Headquarters will make military coordination more effective.

In his address, he expressed his determination to continue the war against terrorism and said that the blood of every innocent Pakistani will be taken to account. He termed the Kashmir issue as a fundamental part of Pakistan’s foreign policy and reiterated his determination to continue political, diplomatic and moral support to the Kashmiri people.

On the other hand, President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, in their separate messages, also paid tribute to the martyrs and ghazis of the struggle for truth and appreciated the professional capabilities of the Pakistani armed forces.
