Islamabad: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has issued an official notification regarding the sighting of the moon of the month of Rajab Al-Murjab 1447 AH. According to the ministry, the Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meeting confirmed the sighting of the moon, and the zonal and district committees also completed their meetings in their areas.
According to the notification, the month of Rajab al-Murajab will begin on Monday, December 22, 2025, the 1st of Rajab. The ministry directed the public to act in accordance with this announcement in worship and other religious matters.
Religious scholars and scholars say that the month of Rajab al-Murajab is a month of seeking closeness to Allah. The virtues of recommended worship, fasting and recitation of the Quran are emphasised in this month. Maulana Syed Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad said, “The public should perform as many voluntary acts of worship as possible in the month of Rajab and follow religious ethics.”
After the announcement of the arrival of the month of Rajab al-Murajb, special gatherings have begun in mosques and madrasas. Scholars and religious leaders are teaching citizens the recommended deeds of Rajab so that everyone can benefit from the virtues of this month.
Also, the Ministry of Religious Affairs directed the Zonal and District Committees to hold the Hilal Committee meetings in a transparent and correct manner in the future so that there are no differences among the people.
With this announcement, the schedule of public worship and fasting has been clarified and citizens can prepare to perform their religious duties.
