LAHORE: The government has increased the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for October 27. According to the notification issued, petrol has been increased by Rs 1.54 and diesel by Rs 2.16 per litre.
After the increase, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 379.25 per litre, while high-speed diesel is now available at Rs 395.82 per litre.
The new prices will be implemented at 12 midnight on October 27. According to officials, the price changes have been made under the mechanism for determining the prices of oil prices and petroleum products in the global market.
The increase in the price of petrol may affect the cost of motorcycles, private vehicles and other petrol-powered vehicles. On the other hand, the increase in diesel prices is likely to increase the operating costs of freight vehicles, public transport and agricultural machinery.
The prices of petroleum products in Pakistan are determined based on various factors including global market rates, import costs and related duties. Under the current procedure of the government, price changes can also be announced daily.
