Yemen, Palestine, Taiwan and Indus Water Treaty: Foreign Office presents Pakistan’s categorical position

Islamabad: The Foreign Office explained Pakistan’s position in detail on important political and diplomatic issues facing the region and the world during the weekly briefing.

Spokesperson Tahir Hussain Andrabi said that Pakistan supports the ongoing regional efforts for peace in Yemen and opposes any unilateral action that would further worsen the situation.

He said that Pakistan rejects any move to forcibly deport Palestinians and will continue to support the rights of the Palestinian people.

Regional and International Relations

According to the spokesperson, Pakistan fully supports China’s position on all core issues of China, including Taiwan, and advises all parties to refrain from actions that increase tension.

He said that Pakistan rejects Israel’s move to recognize Somaliland as a separate country and supports Somalia’s sovereignty and territorial integrity.

The spokesperson revealed that a telephonic conversation took place between the Prime Minister of Pakistan and the Saudi Crown Prince, in which the commitment to further strengthen bilateral relations and cooperation was reiterated.

Indus Water Treaty and India

The Foreign Office reiterated its demand for full implementation of the Indus Water Treaty from India, saying that the Pakistani Indus Water Commissioner has sent formal questions to his Indian counterpart, whose response is awaited.
