ISLAMABAD: High-level delegations of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) and the World Bank held important meetings with Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif, expressing satisfaction over Pakistan’s economic reforms, stability, and development programs.
During the meeting, the IMF delegation expressed satisfaction over the ongoing economic reforms and policy initiatives in Pakistan, appreciated the implementation of the program, and reiterated its commitment to continue its full support in the journey of economic development.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that Pakistan is moving towards development after economic stability. Measures are being expedited for macroeconomic reforms as well as institutional improvements. to achieve long-term development.
During the meeting with the visiting delegation led by Anna Bejar D, MD Operations of the World Bank, the Prime Minister said that the World Bank is an important partner of Pakistan, which is expected to invest more than $20 billion under the Country Partnership Framework.
Appreciating the World Bank’s relief efforts during the 2022 floods, the Prime Minister said that concrete practical steps are being taken to bring the fruits of development projects to the ground.
Describing Pakistan’s economic performance as exemplary, World Bank MD Anna Bejar D said that Pakistan has made extraordinary achievements in the field of stability, and the World Bank will continue to contribute to this development journey.
