According to the Bureau of Statistics, the price of a 20-kilogram bag of flour increased by Rs 7.39, after which the average price became Rs 2,195.81.

On the other hand, tomatoes, onions, sugar and pulses became cheaper, while the prices of 21 items remained stable.

The report said that the price of tomatoes decreased by Rs 66.21, onions by Rs 8.49 and garlic by Rs 13.

Economists say that despite the current economic pressure, the slight decrease in inflation at the weekly level is an indication of partial relief for the public, however, a consistent policy is required to bring the overall inflation trend under control.
