ISLAMABAD: Federal Law Minister Nazir Tarar has said that the judiciary is a constitutional institution and it cannot be run like a royal court.

Talking to the media at the Islamabad High Court, he said that if the judges cannot hear the cases, they should go home, as the constitutional courts come under the purview of accountability. He described the 26th Constitutional Amendment as a beautiful step towards judicial accountability. The federal minister said that the agreement reached between the government and the lawyers Transparency will be ensured, and there will be no deception. He said that I have never once received backdoor support from the association but always took a principled stand. He thanked the former and current Chief Justice of the Islamabad High Court for taking decisions within the legal framework for lawyers.
