Islamabad: A new bill to ban the sale of e-cigarettes, vapes and e-glasses has been submitted to the Senate, under which a complete ban will be imposed on the sale of battery-operated devices containing nicotine to children under the age of 18.
The bill, presented by Senator Sarmad Ali, proposes to ban the use of e-cigarettes, vapes and e-glasses in public places, while advertising, promotion or sponsorship of these products should also be declared illegal.
According to the bill, a fine of Rs 50,000 will be imposed for the first violation of the law, Rs 100,000 for the second, and Rs 200,000 for sale within a 50-meter radius of an educational institution. The fine can be increased to Rs 500,000 for repeated violations.
