Lahore: Several important decisions were taken in a meeting chaired by Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz to maintain law and order in the province, including further tightening the Loudspeaker Act and intensifying operations against illegal foreigners.

The meeting also decided that a whistleblower cell will be established in every district of Punjab so that the public can immediately report suspicious activities or extremist organizations. For this purpose, a special cell has also been set up on the police helpline 15.

The public has been instructed to call 15 immediately if they have information about illegal foreigners or extremist groups in any place. The meeting also approved further tightening and intensifying the ongoing operations to eliminate illegal weapons.

Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz categorically said that the culture, gangsterism or mafia system imposed in Punjab will not be tolerated under any circumstances. She directed that peace committees be activated and they be included in every action so that public cooperation can be increased.

The meeting decided that the administration of each district should report on a daily basis how many illegal residents are associated with where and how many have been sent to deportation centers.

The public was warned that if anyone rents out a house or shop to an illegal foreigner, strict action will be taken against him.

Moreover, cases will be registered under the PECA Act against those spreading hatred or false propaganda on social media.

The meeting also decided that a zero-tolerance policy against hatred on social media will be strictly followed in Punjab, while terrorism laws will be applicable to those who close illegal gatherings or businesses.
