ISLAMABAD – Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has said that the ongoing negotiations between Iran and the United States have entered a crucial phase and a peace agreement between the two countries could be finalized in the next 24 hours.

In a statement on the social networking platform X, the Prime Minister said that the parties are closer to a peace agreement than ever before. He said that Pakistan is preparing for electronic signatures on the agreement, after which technical-level negotiations will begin.

Shehbaz Sharif appreciated the continued seriousness and determination of the United States and Iran involved in the negotiation process and said that both countries have shown positive progress towards reducing tensions and a diplomatic solution. He also valued the support and cooperation of other friendly countries in the region.

According to the Prime Minister, if this agreement is reached, it will not only prove to be a new beginning in Iran-US relations but will also strengthen the prospects for stability in the Middle East and the wider region.

Analysts say that the decades-long political and diplomatic differences between Iran and the United States have affected several regional conflicts. In such a situation, any comprehensive peace agreement will be considered a significant development in global diplomacy.

According to experts, the success of the peace agreement will depend on the extent to which the parties reach a consensus on the technical and practical issues after the agreement. Future negotiations will be of great importance in this regard.

Pakistan has always supported peace in the region, negotiations and the resolution of disputes through diplomatic means. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent statement is also being described as a continuation of this policy.

At the end of his message, the Prime Minister expressed the hope that the proposed historic agreement will provide a strong foundation for lasting peace, mutual trust and regional stability, which will have positive effects not only on the countries concerned but also on the entire region.
