Islamabad: The government committee charged with negotiating with Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has appointed Senator Irfan Siddiqui, a senior member of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), as its spokesman.
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif’s decision to assign Siddiqui to this crucial position was confirmed in an official statement. In his capacity as spokesman, he will convey updates about the discussions meant to resolve the current political deadlock and reflect the government’s viewpoint.
As the country eagerly awaits the outcome of the negotiations, this appointment demonstrates the government’s intention to bring seasoned leadership to the negotiating table.
