PTI’s protest strategy finalized; different leaders will lead in all four provinces

Lahore: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf has finalised a detailed plan for the protests to be held across the country on February 8, under which different leaders in all four provinces will lead the protests.

According to party sources, the protest activities in Punjab will be supervised by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Sohail Afridi, who has the trust of the party’s central leadership. The administrative matters of the protest in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been entrusted to Shahid Khattak.

Sources say that the responsibility of PTI’s protest in Balochistan has been given to Mahmood Achakzai, while the protest in Sindh will be led by Allama Raja Nasir Abbas. According to the party strategy, a protest plan has been prepared in each province according to local conditions.

According to sources, the aim of Sohail Afridi’s recent visit to Sindh is to finalise matters related to the protest and strengthen communication between the provincial leadership. According to the party, the nationwide protest on February 8 will be peaceful.

According to political experts, the PTI’s appointment of separate leaderships in different provinces is an organisational strategy through which the party is trying to organise its protest activities effectively; however, the ground realities and the state response will determine the impact of this protest.
