Lahore: The Punjab Excise and Transport Department has launched the second phase of its crackdown on vehicle owners who do not submit e-challans.
According to the department, vehicles and motorcycles with 25 or more unpaid e-challans will now be blacklisted. In the first phase, action was taken against owners with 50 challans, while in the third phase, action will also be taken against those with 10 challans.
The department has clarified that the registration, token tax and transfer of blacklisted vehicles will be banned, while such vehicles can also be seized.
According to sources, special teams in major cities including Lahore are tracing defaulting vehicles through modern cameras. Despite being warned several times, the owners have not submitted their challans.
The department has appealed to the citizens to submit their e-challans immediately to avoid any legal action or confiscation of the vehicle.
