Karachi: The national airline has announced the restoration of its flights to the Canadian city of Toronto. According to the spokesperson, flight PK 783 will depart from Karachi for Toronto on September 30.
PIA had suspended all flights to Toronto from September 13 to 28, which was due to shortage of aircraft and delay in the supply of spare parts. This route is usually operated by Boeing 777LR but both the aircraft are not in use due to technical issues.
Engineering sources said that the replacement of the landing gear of one aircraft was necessary, the parts are available but due to lack of technical equipment, the installation could not be done on time. Therefore, the Toronto service will be operated by Boeing 777, 300ER.
PIA has also given discounts to passengers going to Toronto. According to the announcement, a 15 percent discount has been given on tickets which can be purchased till October 10, and they will be possible to travel on from September 30 to December 19.
