ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to its long-standing strategic partnership with China, describing the bilateral ties as an enduring friendship that has been deepening generation after generation.
Addressing an event to mark the 105th anniversary of the Communist Party of China (CPC), Dar praised the Chinese leadership for advancing the country’s economic transformation and lifting millions of people out of poverty through the implementation of a consistent policy.
He said the Communist Party of China has played a significant role in strengthening ties between Islamabad and Beijing, adding that the two countries enjoy a partnership based on mutual trust, respect and shared interests.
Highlighting the importance of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC), the Deputy Prime Minister said the flagship project is a key pillar of economic cooperation between the two countries and continues to play its role in Pakistan’s development and regional connectivity.
Dar also referred to the recent regional tensions and said that Pakistan has initiated diplomatic efforts aimed at promoting dialogue and reducing tensions. He added that Pakistan and China continue to work closely in support of regional stability and global peace through cooperation and diplomatic engagements.
He reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to further expand cooperation with China in trade, investment, infrastructure development and people-to-people exchanges, describing bilateral relations as the cornerstone of Pakistan’s foreign policy.
