India defeated Pakistan by 7 wickets to take the lead in the Asia Cup

Dubai: In the sixth match of the T20 Asia Cup, India defeated Pakistan easily by 7 wickets and further brightened their chances of making it to the semi-finals. Batting first, Pakistan scored 129 runs in 20 overs, in which Sahibzada Farhan scored 40 and Shaheen Shah Afridi batted brilliantly and scored 33 not out. However, the rest of the players could not stay on the field for long and the Green Shirts were limited to a low score.

In reply, the Indian team chased the target with full confidence and won the match in just 16 overs for the loss of 3 wickets. Captain Suryakumar Yadav stood out with 47 runs while Abhishek Sharma and Tilak Verma provided a solid foundation for the team by scoring 31 runs each. Pakistan bowler Saim Ayub took three wickets but this effort proved insufficient in the face of India’s strong batting line-up.

In Indian bowling, Kuldeep Yadav took three wickets, Jasprit Bumrah and Acharya Patel took two wickets each, while Hardik Pandya and Varun Chakravarthy took one wicket each. The fans in the field gave a warm welcome to both the teams, but in the end, India’s superiority in both batting and bowling gave it a decisive victory.

This was the 20th encounter between India and Pakistan in the history of the Asia Cup. India has won 11 matches so far.
