Islamabad: Federal Interior Minister and Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has announced that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has allowed fans to enter the stadiums in all three play-off matches of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
Mohsin Naqvi said in his statement on social media platform X that this approval was obtained after meeting the Prime Minister, under which now fans will be able to watch all play-off matches live in the stadium.
He said that an important condition has also been set by the Prime Minister, according to which the public has been instructed to use public transport to watch the matches or ensure minimum fuel consumption. This step has been taken as part of the ongoing austerity campaign in the country.
According to the PCB chairman, the Prime Minister also expressed his best wishes for the four teams that have reached the play-off stage and hoped that the fans will get to see the best and most exciting matches.
It should be remembered that the play-off matches will begin on Tuesday, where Islamabad United and Peshawar Zalmi will face each other in Karachi, while another important match will be played in Lahore on Wednesday. The final match will be held at the Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on May 3.
It should be noted that earlier the government had decided to hold PSL matches without spectators due to the global fuel crisis, however, now after the situation improved, fans have been allowed to come to the stadium again.
