CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz Launches Monthly Honorarium Scheme for Mosque Imams in Punjab

Lahore: Big good news has come out for the imams of mosques performing religious services in Punjab, where the provincial government has officially announced a monthly honorarium of Rs 25,000. Initially, 70,000 imams will benefit from this project.

Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz said in her address to the ceremony that imams play a central role in the moral education of the society. According to her, respect for religious leaders is actually the basis of social stability.

Maryam Nawaz said that the government has adopted a modern and transparent system for this project, under which all payments will be made directly through bank accounts. She said that the purpose of this project is not to reward anyone but to acknowledge religious services.

The Chief Minister made it clear that violence, arson and riots in the name of religion cannot be accepted under any circumstances. She said that the Punjab government will not compromise on peace, law and civil security.

This decision is being considered positive in urban circles. Many people say that by giving regular honoraria to imams, they will be free from financial pressure and will be able to perform their responsibilities in a better manner.

The Punjab government says that the performance of this scheme will be reviewed in the coming months and further improvements will be made if necessary.
