MUZAFFARABAD: Following the recent protest crisis in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, the government has started a process of reviewing the discipline of government institutions and the responsibilities of employees, which observers are calling a new phase in the growing tension between the state and the protesting circles.

According to official sources, the role of employees associated with various departments is being reviewed to find out whether they participated in protest activities in violation of government rules and regulations. Under this process, initial information has been provided to various institutions so that they can assess the situation as per their internal rules.

Political analysts say that this development is not just an administrative action but is also being considered as part of the government’s attempt to strengthen the state writ. According to them, the protest gatherings held in various cities of Azad Kashmir in recent weeks have further highlighted the lack of trust between the government and the protesters.

On the other hand, there is an emphasis in business and social circles that instead of complicating the current situation further, a solution should be found through talks. Several businessmen and civic representatives have urged both the government and the protest leadership to take practical steps to reduce tensions.

The government is also highlighting the importance of negotiations. Officials say that if the situation returns to normal, all disputed issues can be discussed. According to the administration, political dialogue is essential for sustainable stability.

According to experts, the biggest challenge at the moment is to maintain the functioning of state institutions while also adopting effective mechanisms to address public grievances. If a balance is not established between the two aspects, political tensions may increase further.

Meanwhile, business activities have gradually started to recover in some areas, but the people are still waiting for a permanent and peaceful resolution to the situation. The local population says that political stability is necessary for the full restoration of economic activities and the return of normal life.

The current situation in Azad Kashmir may become more important in the coming days, especially if the negotiation process progresses or the scope of administrative measures is expanded.
