Officials say that industrial smoke and excessive use of traffic are the main reasons for the increase in smog.
The government has appealed to the public to wear masks while going out, avoid leaving home unnecessarily in the morning and evening hours, and immediately report environmentally harmful activities to the authorities. If the situation does not improve, a formal announcement regarding the closure of schools may be made early next week.
