ISLAMABAD: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, while addressing the Pakistan-Iran Business Forum held in Islamabad, said that further promoting trade and investment relations with Iran is one of Pakistan’s top priorities. He said that Pakistan and Iran are not only geographical neighbors but also have religious and cultural ties, which are also linked, and converting them into an economic partnership is the need of the hour.
Ishaq Dar announced at the forum that the two countries have agreed to increase the trade volume to $10 billion, and both sides will take practical steps to take advantage of the available opportunities. He stressed that barriers to trade will be removed, while Iran and Pakistan have compatible positions in regional organizations such as ECO and SCO. The Foreign Minister also expressed his determination to provide better facilities to investors and keep the economic direction in the right direction.
