The world is currently on the verge of a change that experts are calling a “once-in-a-century change.” The global system, which has long been dominated by the US, is now entering a new era due to the rise of China and Russia’s increasingly aggressive policies.

China’s global ambitions

Today, China is the world’s second-largest economy, as well as a leader in technology, defense and international influence. Under the leadership of President Xi Jinping, Beijing has pushed forward the Belt and Road Initiative and has invested heavily in artificial intelligence, robotics and military modernization.

According to experts, China’s goal is not limited to economic development, but also wants to challenge the Western system established after World War II.

US strategy

The US, which has maintained a monopoly on global power for decades, is now facing its greatest test. Washington is further strengthening ties with Asian allies such as Japan, South Korea, India and Australia to counterbalance China.

The US seeks to maintain its leadership by relying on its technological superiority, military presence and soft power, but internal political divisions and shifting global alliances are making it difficult.

Russia’s aggressive role

Russia, under President Vladimir Putin, is playing a key role in this global conflict. Although its economy is smaller than that of the US and China, Moscow exerts influence through its military might, energy resources and strategic partnerships.

The growing ties between China and Russia—in energy, defense and opposition to Western policies—are moving the world towards a multipolar world order.

Technology and artificial intelligence: the new battlefield

Experts say that the real battlefield in the 21st century will not be military power but technology and artificial intelligence.

China has invested heavily in artificial intelligence, 5G and robotics.

The US is constraining China through innovation and control over semiconductors.

Russia is maintaining influence through cyberwarfare and energy.

This technology race will determine global power in the coming decades.

What it means for the world

Developing countries, including Pakistan, India and African states, will face both new opportunities and threats in this changing system. The biggest challenge for these countries will be to stand with a single power or balance relations with all the major powers.

According to experts, this conflict will decide the future of global trade, security and technology and reshape the map of the world.
