Progress in Pakistan-Bangladesh military relations: Chairman Joint Chiefs visits Dhaka

Islamabad: According to the ISPR, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee General Sahir Shamshad Mirza visited Bangladesh, where he had an important meeting with the Chief of the Bangladesh Army. The meeting took place in a friendly atmosphere, during which detailed discussions were held on the defense relations between the two countries.

They expressed happiness over the positive progress made so far in joint cooperation between the Pakistani and Bangladeshi armies. The two countries also reiterated their commitment to further strengthen regular contacts and visits of the military leadership.

While discussing the regional and global security situation, they agreed on proposals to enhance cooperation in the field of counter-terrorism and military training. The ISPR said that the two sides also took the threats of disinformation and divisive campaigns seriously and decided to work on a common defense strategy.

Pakistan and Bangladesh aim to further expand military relations based on peace, stability and mutual trust.
