Islamabad: Information Minister Atta Tarar harshly attacked the leadership of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) during a sitting of the National Assembly. He said that the PTI leaders were hurting the very institutions that helped them get to power. “They attack the same institutions that brought them to where they are today,” he said, making him doubt their honesty. They don’t feel bad about how they talk about these groups.

Tarar also talked about the disagreements within the PTI about how many people died during the protests on November 26. He said that PTI leaders had different ideas about how many people had died. “Every day, Omar Ayub, who is their grandson, comes here to spread lies,” he said. He talked about how chaotic things were inside the PTI and how the leaders were fighting instead of dealing with the real problems, like the missing persons cases.

When talking about media control, Tarar made it clear that, contrary to what PTI said, PEMRA had not put any limits on TV stations. During the terrible events in Kurram, he told the Assembly, PTI leaders were storming Islamabad instead of focusing on the most important problems in the country.
