PM Shehbaz Sharif’s speech in the National Assembly: A categorical stance on terrorism, constitutional amendment and national unity

Islamabad: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said in his address to the National Assembly that there is nothing greater than the unity of Pakistan. He said that there was a full consultation on the 27th Constitutional Amendment, after which it was made part of the Constitution, which is a symbol of national unity.

The Prime Minister said that if any project weakens the federation, it is not useful for the country, no matter how big the economic project is. He said that the Kalabagh Dam is important economically, but if it affects federal harmony, then he does not support it.

Expressing regret over the recent incidents of terrorism, Shehbaz Sharif said that attacks on Pakistan from Afghan soil are unacceptable. He said that India is trying to sabotage the peace of the region, but the Pakistani nation, army and government are united.

He appreciated the role of Chief Justice of Pakistan Yahya Afridi and said that it is welcome that revenue-related cases are resolved on merit. The Prime Minister further said that the services of teachers like Irfan Siddiqui will always be remembered.
