Islamabad: The federal government has reduced the prices of petrol and high-speed diesel for October 20. According to the new prices, petrol has become cheaper by Rs 5.16 and diesel by Rs 7.69 per liter.
According to the notification, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 381.14 per liter, while high-speed diesel will now be available for Rs 389.27 per liter. The new rates will be applicable only for October 20.
Earlier, from October 17 to 19, the price of petrol was Rs 386.30 per liter, while diesel was being sold for Rs 396.96 per liter. After the latest reduction, the prices of both fuels have come down from these previous rates.
Petrol is generally used in motorcycles, cars and small vehicles, while diesel is an important fuel for transport, freight vehicles, agricultural machinery and some industrial activities. Therefore, the reduction in diesel price may also affect transportation and production costs, but the pass-through of the benefit to consumers depends on other costs and market conditions.
