On the diplomatic front, Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi has given a new dimension to relations with Pakistan. He completely rejected the impression of the US media that Iran is shying away from negotiations with Pakistan. Abbas Araqchi said, “Iran has never refused to go to Pakistan; we value Islamabad’s peace efforts.” At the end of his statement, he shouted, “Long live Pakistan”, dispelling rumours of a cold war between the two brotherly countries.
