Karachi: Heavyweight banking and fertilizer stocks led the market higher as the KSE-100 Index posted strong gains during Monday’s trading session at the Pakistan Stock Exchange.
According to PSX figures, United Bank Limited (UBL) emerged as the top contributor, adding 709.35 points to the index. Other key gainers included Habib Bank Limited (HBL) with a 331.36-point contribution, ENGROH (276.30 points), MCB Bank (180.84 points), and EFERT (178.68 points).
The combined strength of these stocks pushed the benchmark index to close at 182,408.24 points, up 3,373.31 points from the previous session. Market participants remained active throughout the day, with buying interest concentrated in large-cap and fundamentally strong companies.
Market watchers noted that institutional participation and improved investor sentiment continued to support the upward momentum at the PSX.
