Washington: Finance Minister Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb has said that the need of the hour is to expand trade links in the region in view of the ongoing global uncertainty. Speaking at a meeting of the International Monetary Fund (IMF), he said Pakistan has to make fundamental changes in its economic strategy. Top among these are sectoral diversification and expansion of markets. Senator Mohammad Aurangzeb said that in order to strengthen the economy, it is necessary to focus on the development of the export sector by reducing import dependence. He made it clear that the information technology sector can open a new economic chapter for Pakistan and the secret of future development is hidden in it.
