Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has taken a historic step to provide residential facilities for industrial workers under the worker-friendly policy. Allotment of 720 flats has been started in Sundar Industrial Estate Kasur (Phase One) under the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund.

According to the spokesperson, two-thirds quota has been allocated for workers of Kasur district and one-third for workers of Lahore in the project. In addition, 3 percent quota has been reserved for widows and 2 percent quota for disabled workers.

Applicants can obtain the form from the Punjab Workers Welfare Fund website or from the offices of Director Labor Welfare North and South and Deputy Director Labor Welfare Kasur. The last date for submission of applications has been set for September 8.

Workers say that this initiative is a positive development in solving the housing problems of the working class and their socio-economic welfare, which highlights the Punjab government’s labor-friendly policy.
