Washington – In a statement posted on the social media platform Truth Social, U.S. President Donald Trump has thanked Iran for reopening the vital Strait of Hormuz for international shipping, although he emphasized that the blockade on Iran would remain in place until further conditions were met.

Trump stated, “I thank Iran for opening the Strait of Hormuz, which is now fully open and ready for transit. However, the blockade on Iran remains intact until the full completion of the agreement.

This process should conclude quickly, as many key points with Iran have already been settled.”
During an interview with a U.S. journalist, Trump expressed his satisfaction with the reopening of the waterway but criticized NATO for not providing support in the matter, calling the alliance “paper tigers.” He also stated, “I am very pleased that the Strait of Hormuz is open again, but it saddens me that NATO has not been involved. NATO is a paper tiger. It doesn’t do anything substantial.”

Trump further discussed the potential nuclear fallout from the U.S. B-2 bomber strikes on Iran, declaring that the “nuclear dust” generated by the attacks would be a valuable asset for the United States. He stressed that Iran would not receive any compensation for the nuclear fallout. “The agreement with Iran is not linked to the situation in Lebanon,” he added, clarifying that any negotiations with Iran would not be contingent on Lebanese issues.

Regarding Lebanon, Trump affirmed that the United States was engaged in separate discussions with the Lebanese government and would handle the Hezbollah situation appropriately.

Trump also mentioned that Israel had been instructed not to carry out any further airstrikes on Lebanon. “Israel will not attack Lebanon again. Enough is enough,” he declared.

The statement highlights Trump’s approach to addressing the complex geopolitical dynamics involving Iran, Lebanon, and Israel, which remain central to the stability of the region.

While expressing optimism about the opening of the Strait of Hormuz, the former president’s comments underline his tough stance on Iran’s broader role in Middle Eastern conflicts.

As the situation continues to evolve, the international community remains focused on the implementation of these agreements, particularly in relation to the ongoing geopolitical disputes in the region.
