US President Donald Trump has announced that he has decided to postpone possible military action against Iran for now. He says that this decision has been made to provide an opportunity for diplomatic efforts; however, future progress depends on a prompt and acceptable agreement.

President Trump said in his social media statement that after diplomatic contacts and requests from Iran and some other countries in the region, it has been decided to temporarily stop military action. He said that if an agreement is reached soon that is acceptable to the United States, there will be no need to attack Iran.

The US President further claimed that Israel has also agreed to postpone possible action in order to provide a suitable environment for diplomatic negotiations to proceed. According to him, it is important to give negotiations an important opportunity in the current situation.

However, he made it clear that the US will not compromise on its defence and military preparations. He said that if the negotiations do not yield the desired results or the diplomatic process is stalled, all other options will continue to be considered.

After Trump’s statement, the ongoing tension in the Middle East has once again become the centre of global attention. International observers say that if diplomatic efforts are successful, tensions in the region may decrease, while in case of failure, the security situation will be more complicated.

On the other hand, there was no immediate official response from Iran to the US President’s statement. Diplomatic circles are closely monitoring possible contacts and progress in negotiations between the US, Iran and other relevant countries in the next few days.

According to experts, the current situation reflects that diplomacy is playing an important role in the region, along with the military option. The coming days will determine whether the talks lead to a reduction in tensions or the region moves towards a new crisis.
