Islamabad: Good news for the people worried about inflation! The Ministry of National Food Security has announced that the process of importing sugar has now entered the final phase, and the first shipment will reach Pakistan in early September.
The ministry spokesperson said that this step is being taken to provide relief to the people and keep sugar prices under control. According to the spokesperson, the government also successfully obtained a discount while purchasing from the international market, which is also welcome for the national exchequer.
Officials further said that the imported sugar will meet the demand in the local market, which will not only stabilize prices but also reduce the fears of artificial shortage.
