Serious charges against Lt. Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed proven, Field General Court Martial verdict implemented

The ISPR has said that the proceedings of the Field General Court Martial against Lt. Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed have been completed and four serious charges have been found to be proven against the accused. According to the spokesperson, the charges include interference in political activities, violation of the Official Secrets Act, misuse of powers and government resources and causing unlawful harm to civilians.

According to the ISPR, the court martial against Faiz Hameed began on August 12, 2024 and continued for about 15 months. During this time, the court reviewed all the evidence and testimonies in detail. The spokesperson said that the activities of the accused harmed the state interest, while some of his actions were considered harmful to national security.

The ISPR clarified that the proceedings were completely transparent and Lt. Gen (retd) Faiz Hameed was given full right to have a defense team of his choice. The court’s decision was formally implemented on December 11, 2025.

The spokesperson said that Faiz Hameed has full right to appeal against the decision. Further aspects related to political and illegal activities are under separate review and are being processed as per the law. According to him, the internal accountability system of the army is functioning effectively at all levels and no one is above the law.
