Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Atta Tarar stated that the convictions of the accused in the May 9 incidents have confirmed that the mastermind behind these events was the founder of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). In his statement, he said that on May 9, national monuments and military installations were attacked—an unprecedented event in the country’s history. Tarar accused the PTI founder of inciting his supporters towards violence and vandalism, introducing a culture of hatred and division in politics.
He further highlighted the government’s efforts to stabilize the economy, citing improvements in the stock market and record-breaking investments from friendly countries. He also pointed out that inflation, which was at 32% last year, has now dropped to 4%, and the Pakistan Stock Exchange is achieving new milestones daily. Speaking at an event in Lahore, Atta Tarar emphasized that the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) is steadfast in fulfilling its electoral promises and remains committed to addressing the challenges faced by the people.
