Lahore: The Punjab government has made a historic increase in marriage and death grants to reduce the hardships of the working class across the province. The aim of this decision is to provide better financial support to labourers on both happy and sad occasions.

Under the new announcement, the marriage grant has been increased by Rs 2 lakh, which has increased its amount from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 6 lakh. The government says that this increase will make it easier for working parents to bear the expenses of important stages like marriage.

The death grant has also been significantly increased, and its amount has been increased from Rs 8 lakh to Rs 1 million. This assistance is to provide immediate financial support to the families of deceased workers so that they do not face any major problems in this difficult time.

According to the sources, the new grants will be applicable to all registered eligible workers. Moreover, the concerned officers have been directed to avoid delay in the scrutiny of applications and disbursement of funds so that this facility reaches the truly deserving families on time.

The government says that workers are the foundation of the economy, and these steps have been taken for their betterment so that they can get the financial security they deserve.
