Lahore: The Punjab government has decided to conduct physical verification of students’ admissions in private schools across the province, with the aim of identifying fake enrolment and ensuring the accuracy of school records. The authorities have issued instructions to complete this process in all 41 districts by November 20.
The process of verification of students in schools will be carried out in all licensed private educational institutions of the province. Responsibilities have been assigned to district focal persons and assistant education officers (AEOs) in this regard.
As per the issued instructions, assistant education officers will personally visit their assigned schools and physically verify the students present there. During this process, the admission records of the schools and the actual presence of the students will be reviewed.
The authorities have clarified that it will be necessary to inform the concerned private school administration at least a day before the verification visit, so that the institutions can maintain the required records and other arrangements.
As per the government decision, if fake admissions are proven in a school, its license can be cancelled. This move is expected to help identify possible discrepancies between the actual number of students in educational institutions and the official records.
The authorities have directed all the concerned officers to complete the verification process within the stipulated time. In view of the deadline of November 20, the officers at the district level will have to discharge their responsibilities on time.
