US President Donald Trump has expressed his expectation of an early end to the ongoing tension with Iran and a decrease in oil prices in the global market. He says that Iran will give up soon, after which oil prices may fall.
Speaking to the media, Trump claimed that a record amount of oil was shipped from the Strait of Hormuz last night. He also compared oil prices for American consumers to the era of former President Joe Biden and said that fuel in the United States is still cheaper than before.
Regarding diplomatic relations with Iran, the US president said that Washington’s negotiators may hold further talks with Tehran this week. According to him, Iran wants to make a deal, but its terms are not acceptable to the United States.
Trump’s statement shows that Washington wants to maintain pressure on Iran with diplomatic relations. However, no further details were released about the progress of the talks and the nature of any possible agreement.
The Strait of Hormuz is a vital sea route for global energy supplies. Any major disruption to oil shipments through it could have an impact on global market prices. Trump described the recent shipments as a record, but did not provide independent figures in this regard.
On the other hand, the US President said on the issue of arrests at RAF Fairford that the individuals concerned had been under surveillance for a long time. According to him, the arrested individuals were trying to cause great harm to the United States. However, he did not provide further details on the matter.
