Lahore — Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam (JUI-F) leader Maulana Fazlur Rehman conveyed his belief that the American people have the right to elect their own president and that there is no need to accord undue significance to former US President Donald Trump. During a press conference in Lahore, he stated, “Our foremost concern is the security of our own country.”

He also emphasized that the JUI-F has consistently negotiated with principles in mind, and these efforts have been successful. “I aspire to resolve matters through dialogue.” Maulana Fazl stated, “The initial objective is to regain the confidence of the populace.”

Maulana Fazl acknowledged that he was not entirely cognizant of the specifics of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and their demands. Nevertheless, he reaffirmed his steadfast conviction that politicians should not be apprehended. “If someone oversteps their boundaries, they should reassess their behavior,” according to him.

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, a staunch proponent of dialogue, maintained that principles can be employed to persuade both the government and opposition. He also underscored the critical relationship between Pakistan and Afghanistan, describing the two nations as inseparable in their mutual interests.
