Lahore: Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz has announced a significant reduction in electricity bills for the people suffering from inflation. In the 26th cabinet meeting held in Lahore, the chief minister approved a reduction in power tariffs in the province by 30 to 40 percent.

This announcement was made at a time when the rising electricity tariffs have become a burden for the people. Maryam Nawaz said that “Punjab has become the first province to voluntarily reduce electricity tariffs.”

The cabinet also approved a reduction in the tariffs of Quaid-e-Azam Thermal Power and Punjab Thermal Power Private Limited, which will directly benefit millions of consumers.

Maryam Nawaz said, “We fulfill what we promise; providing relief to the people is the real service.”
