ISLAMABAD – Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting, Attaullah Tarar, announced today that the government has decided to temporarily suspend Operation Ghazab-ul-Haq in observance of the upcoming Islamic festival, Eid-ul-Fitr.

According to the Information Minister, the decision to halt military actions was made out of respect for the holy occasion and following formal requests from “brotherly Islamic countries.” Specifically, Tarar noted that Saudi Arabia, Turkiye, and Qatar played a role in requesting the pause in operations.

Timeline of the Suspension

The operational pause is scheduled to begin tonight and will remain in effect until the midnight between March 23 and March 24.

While the government is offering a window of peace for the holidays, Minister Tarar issued a clear warning regarding the security of the borders. He emphasized that the suspension is conditional:

”If there is any cross-border attack, act of terrorism, or drone strike during this period, the operation will be resumed immediately with even greater intensity.”

The government maintains that while they respect the sanctity of Eid and the advice of international allies, national security remains the top priority.
