Islamabad – Federal Information Minister Atta Tarar has termed the contempt of court petition filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf as baseless and said that the court orders were fully implemented by the administration.

During a press conference in Islamabad, Atta Tarar said that the court’s instructions were clear that no rhetoric would be made on the matter. According to him, despite this, discussions were held with the media and political statements were made. He claimed that security arrangements were also affected by the activities of some individuals.

Referring to the people gathered outside Shifa Hospital, the Federal Minister said that the contempt of court issue should be viewed from a different angle. He said that allegations of violation of court orders by the PTI founder, his family and the party have also been discussed.

According to Atta Tarar, the medical examination of the PTI founder was conducted in the presence of his sister and his personal doctors. Referring to the initial medical report, he said that the health of the PTI founder is satisfactory and he is not facing any immediate medical problem.

The Information Minister said that health-related matters should be kept separate from political differences. According to him, the required facilities are being provided to the prisoners in their medical and other matters as per the court orders.

He also mentioned the issue of review and said that the question was raised before the court in a polite manner whether such facilities are also available to other prisoners. According to him, the government has completed all the necessary arrangements under the court’s instructions.

Atta Tarar also criticised the political statements of some lawyers. He said that some members of the Pakistan and Punjab Bar Council gave their opinions in their personal capacity, while some lawyers also tried to include the bar platform in political activities.
