The Punjab government has announced extensive transfers and postings within the province’s senior bureaucracy, effective immediately. These changes are part of a broader effort aimed at improving administrative efficiency and governance standards across key departments.

  • ​Sadia Mehar has been appointed as the Additional Secretary Administration for the Local Government & Community Development Department (LG&CDD). Mehar brings significant experience from various important posts and was selected by the government for her administrative expertise.
  • ​Farwa Aamir has been designated as the Additional Secretary Price Control & Commodities Management. This department holds crucial responsibility for effectively controlling inflation and the prices of essential goods across the province, making Aamir’s role highly challenging and important.

​Changes in Price Control and Specialized Agencies

  • ​Muhammad Aslam Shahid, who was previously serving in the Price Control & Commodities Management department, has been transferred and appointed as the Director Admin at the Punjab Forensic Science Agency. Sources suggest that Shahid’s experience is considered vital for administrative improvement and the restructuring of the Forensic Agency.
  • ​An important change was also made within the Revenue Department: Abdul Rauf has been transferred from the Board of Revenue and appointed as Additional Secretary Home Department. The Home Department handles sensitive matters such as law and order, internal security, and administrative planning, requiring experienced officers.
  • ​Furthermore, Muhammad Azam has been appointed as the Additional Secretary Public Prosecution Department. This department plays a key role in legal proceedings, prosecution of cases, and legal matters, and his appointment is expected to further enhance the department’s performance.

​Government sources indicate that these appointments and transfers are a part of a major initiative to upgrade administrative quality, aiming to accelerate departmental performance and improve the standard of governance. It is anticipated that these new postings will lead to marked improvements in the functionality of the various departments involved.
