China has completely changed in 14 years, the future of both countries is intertwined: President Asif Ali Zardari

Islamabad: President Asif Ali Zardari has said that China has achieved great economic development in the last 14 years and now this country has completely changed. In an interview with a Chinese television, he said that he has visited China 16 to 17 times and every time he felt accepted there.

President Zardari stressed that all countries should respect each other’s sovereignty and need to focus on economic development instead of wars. He expressed his belief in peaceful coexistence and said that everyone has the right to development.

CPEC and a vision of a shared future

The President said that China’s economy has become strong, and the Chinese people are prosperous and satisfied. He expressed hope that China has a bright future and the entire East will work together with it. He termed CPEC as the flagship project of the Belt and Road Initiative and said that Pakistan’s ports are among the closest ports to China. He said that the success of CPEC will develop the entire region and strengthen ties.

Cooperation in the field of agriculture and technology

President Zardari confirmed that cooperation between Pakistan and China has now reached space. He said that Pakistan stands with China in all circumstances and the country’s priority is to be self-sufficient in the agricultural sector so that the future can be secured. He stressed the adoption of modern irrigation methods for saving and efficient use of water.

He said that Pakistan wants to benefit from China’s experiences in agriculture, water management, disaster prevention and modern agricultural technology. Furthermore, he said that there is a desire to benefit from Chinese technology in renewable energy projects for generating electricity from solar and wind, as well as in the railway sector.

President Zardari described the relationship between China and Pakistan as that of iron brothers and said that the future of both is intertwined.
