ISLAMABAD: The Government of Pakistan has raised petrol and high‑speed diesel (HSD) prices for the fortnight beginning February 16, 2026, dealing another blow to consumers already grappling with rising costs ahead of the holy month of Ramazan. According to the Petroleum Division’s latest fortnightly review, petrol prices have been increased by Rs. 5 per litre, bringing the new rate to Rs. 258.17 per litre, while diesel prices were raised by Rs. 7.32 per litre to Rs. 275.70 per litre.

The hike follows consistent reviews based on recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and movements in global crude oil markets. Petrol and diesel prices had been stable through mid‑January and early February, but recent international price pressures and exchange rate effects pushed the government to adjust rates.
Fuel price adjustments directly affect transport, logistics, and household budgets across Pakistan. Diesel, which powers heavy transport and agricultural machinery, has a particularly significant impact on inflation and supply chain costs. The February 16 revision marks a continued trend of petrol and diesel cost fluctuations in 2026.
