Karachi: Sindh Home Minister Zia Lanjar has revealed that terrorist organizations are trying to prepare young girls for suicide attacks by targeting them through social media. He said that in a recent operation, security agencies saved a girl from a major disaster through timely action.
Addressing a press conference in Karachi along with AIG CTD Azad Khan and Karachi Police Chief Javed Alam Odho, Zia Lanjar said that terrorist elements contacted the girl through social media and systematically brainwashed her.
He said that the girl was being prepared to become a suicide bomber, however, law enforcement agencies foiled the plan by taking timely action based on intelligence information.
The Sindh Home Minister urged parents to keep a close eye on their children’s use of social media to prevent them from falling into the clutches of extremist elements.
