New vehicle and petrol policy approved for government officials in Punjab

Lahore: The Punjab government has issued a notification of a new policy on official vehicles and petrol for senior government officers, under which officers of different grades have been provided with clear facilities regarding the engine size and fuel quantity of the vehicles. According to the notification, the Chief Secretary and IG Punjab will be able to use three official vehicles, including 2800, 1800 and 4700 cc. 800 liters of petrol per month has been fixed for two vehicles, while no limit on petrol has been fixed for the 4700 cc vehicle.
According to the document, secretary-level officers of grades 21 and 22 will be allowed to use two vehicles of 2800 and 1800 cc. These officers will be given 200 liters of petrol per month for personal use, while there will be no restriction on the quantity of petrol for official matters. Earlier, the Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary used to get 200 liters of petrol per month for duty, while no limit on fuel has been fixed for official visits.
Under the new policy, Special Secretaries and DIG officers of grades 19 and 20 will be allowed to use 250 liters of petrol per month along with a 1600 cc vehicle. Similarly, Additional Secretary of grade 19 has been allowed a 1600 cc vehicle and 200 liters of petrol per month. According to officials, these changes have been made keeping in mind the administrative requirements and field work.
